Lake Livingston is an impoundment built in 1969 on the Trinity River. Lake Livingston is located in the counties of Polk County, Trinity County, San Jacinto County, and Walker County. The lake has a maximum depth of about 77 feet covers about 90,000 acres. Although there are many bass fishing tournaments held on Lake Livingston each year it is mostly known as a premier catfish lake. The daily bag limit for catfish in Texas is 25 per day, but on Lake Livingston catfish are so abundant that the daily limit is doubled to 50 per day.
